The APAARI-APIRAS Alliance – A Joint Commitment to Agriculture Research and Innovation

The Asia-Pacific Association of Agricultural Research Institutions (APAARI) and the Asia-Pacific Islands Rural Advisory Services Network (APIRAS) recently formalized a strategic partnership through a Hosting Agreement wherein APAARI will host APIRAS as APAARI-APIRAS Alliance (AAA). APAARI will host APIRAS’s need-based operations in Bangkok and provide essential support for financial transactions and technical assistance, along with exploring joint opportunities for innovation in Rural Advisory Services (RAS) in the region.

The partnership between APAARI and APIRAS represents a significant step towards achieving sustainable agricultural development and improving the livelihoods of smallholder farmers in the Asia-Pacific region. The collaborative efforts of both organizations will pave a way for developing responsive and effective linkages between research and extension services that will enable agricultural innovation and enhanced uptake of resilient agricultural practices.
