SEARCA Announces Regional Training Programs and International Conference for 2025

The Southeast Asian Regional Center for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA) is pleased to announce the launch of three regional training programs and one international conference in 2025. These initiatives aim to empower faculty and staff from higher education institutions, extension agencies, government and private sector institutions, and civil society organizations (CSOs) across Southeast Asia. The programs and conference focus on enhancing leadership, innovation, and development within the agriculture sector.

Here are the upcoming events:

1. Leadership Development Program for Higher Education Institutions in Southeast Asia (LDP-HEIs in SEA)

Theme: “Designing and Leading Your University to the Desired Future”
This hybrid program will take place from April to June 2025, with face-to-face sessions held in Indonesia. It aims to equip participants with the necessary skills and knowledge to lead universities effectively in Southeast Asia, ensuring they thrive and become more resilient.

2. Executive Program for Leaders in Asian Agriculture and Development (LAAD): Focus on Southeast Asia

This hybrid leadership capacity development program, running from May to June 2025, will be held at SEARCA in Los Baños, Laguna, Philippines. It targets leaders in the Southeast Asian agrifood community and aims to foster sustained economic growth in agriculture while addressing social, economic, biophysical, and global challenges.

3. Training-Workshop on Transformational Agricultural Innovation Systems for the New Future (TrAInS)

The TrAInS program, which will be held face-to-face from June 16-20, 2025 at SEARCA in Los Baños, Laguna, Philippines, is designed to engage participants in analyzing agricultural challenges and developing transformative, collaborative programs for agricultural development.

4. 3rd International Conference: Women Empowerment and Leadership in Agriculture 2025

SEARCA, in partnership with Caraga State University (CSU) and the Caraga Consortium for AANR Research and Development (CCAARRD), is organizing this conference in Butuan City, Philippines from May 14-16, 2025. The theme for the conference is “Women and Innovations for the Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources (AANR) Sector towards Sustainable Development.” The organizers invite abstracts for this event.
