Asia-Pacific Consortium on Agricultural Biotechnology and Bioresources
Genesis
Food and Agricultural Organization – Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (FAO-RAP) and Asia-Pacific Association of Agricultural Research Institutions (APAARI) organized a meeting on 4 April 2003 on regional cooperation in agricultural biotechnology. Asia-Pacific Consortium on Agricultural Biotechnology (APCoAB) was established as a program under the umbrella of APAARI in 2004. To accomplish the revised vision of APAARI in context of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), conservation and sustainable use of bioresources for sustainability of agri-food system, bioresources were included under APCoAB program on 12 November 2017 by endorsement of the Executive Committee of APAARI. Thereafter, it was known as Asia-Pacific Consortium on Agricultural Biotechnology and Bioresources (APCoAB).
